The project will employ current research on conflict avoidance and conflict theory and politics and contribute through practice-led spatial modelling. RiS researchers will analyse participants’ patterns of engagement and action to protest in Beirut in order to document evidence of societal and political transformations. The project involves a close collaboration with partners in Lebanon to produce indicators, document attitudes and map distribution and densities of mass violence. Through a series of workshops and focus groups, the project will gather oral accounts and community experience while exploring visualisation methods, digital and mapping tools. Beyond the workshops and focus groups, the project will also present visual displays and organise a conference to effectively communicate the findings to policymakers.
